Flower power pillow
This cute pillow has been on my "To Do" idea list for a long time. I first saw the idea on Cluck Cluck Sew and really liked the dimension and the idea of using felt to make something beautiful, instead of tacky. Maybe I'm the only one, but for me "felt" reminds me of Sunday School crafts, of which I'm not a fan.
On my first attempt, I had the bad idea to glue petals directly onto the pillow using fabric glue. I wanted to watch some show, probably Parenthood and thought I could do something productive at the same time. I was not happy with the result...but the kids had fun pulling the petals off. Grrrrrrrrr.
"IF AT FIRST YOU DON'T SUCCEED, TRY TRY AGAIN."
I'm not always willing to try again, let alone try two more times....but I gave it one more shot and sewed the felt petals on properly. It was worth the extra effort! There it is, hanging out on my brand new couch. The other pillow covers are from Dubai, and I'm crazy about the splashes of color that they bring. Thanks mom!

Taking the longer route is sometimes so much more worth it as in this case getting the pillow to hold up. Looks awesome! You do such good work!

Is that a new couch, or the same one?
The pillows are both great.
Yes! It's a new couch....to replace our over-loved furniture that we've had for too long.
