Family time at GCVM

We were married 9 years ago this month at the Genesee Country Village and Museum. It was one of my favorite places to go when I was a kid and I couldn't believe my luck in finding a guy who didn't mind getting married in a unique place. This church is so incredibly simplistic, to the point of having no electricity. It was perfect for my simple little wedding.
For no particular reason, we haven't been back there in years...not since we've had kids. I was filled with emotion as we walked down that long path towards the church. That familiar path that we walked many times while engaged and planning our wedding, the path that we walked with our loved ones on the night of the rehearsal, the path that we traveled wearing our wedding gear, avoiding puddles and mud holes.
Once again we walked down that familiar gravel path, this time with 3 kids in tow.
My how our life has changed, compared to a village untouched by time.

Here we are in front of that same lovely (old) church, each with a kid on our back and our oldest taking the photo. Pretty different from that day 9 years ago when we were dressed in our finest where everyone around was toting a camera.
Same happy smiles though!

And it sorta does....

We promised each other to visit during our wedding month each year to remember, to celebrate, to enjoy a favorite place with the ones that we love.
