My bedroom wall

I have an 8 foot wall full of nothing in my bedroom. That's a big space! I knew I wanted something "architectural" instead of wall hangings. My boxy suburban house needs all the help it can get to become more interesting.

While my step-dad was in town for a quick visit, I told him my idea and asked if he'd buy the supplies for me. I get too overwhelmed at the store and end up leaving with nothing. That happened twice. I hardly have time to go to the store, so to actually GO and then leave with nothing for my project is maddening. Twice.

He not only bought the right pieces, he nailed/ glued the wood to my wall! This is a good man to know....

I painted the bottom white, and the top navy blue. It's a pretty awesome accent wall! I had the blue and white paint down in the basement, so that was easy to do...and no trip to the store!

I tried putting some photos up on the ledge, but I'm not sure that's the look I want. It's cluttered and sorta feels like my loved ones are watching me sleep. The bed, with it's awesome custom (step-father made) headboard, is directly across from this wall. I love it!
