Bathroom Wall

My master bathroom got a new coat of paint this month, and a few other little changes are in the works. For now, I'm forcing myself to work on "free" projects. I had some molding in my garage from 5 years ago. Jeesh.... But there's a reason I hang onto stuff!

I cut the molding to make a square around my pictures and painted the inside of the square a lighter shade of the wall.

Ugh. I hated it. So I left it alone for a week, before calling in an expert. I e-mailed these pictures to Rebecca from Older and Wisor and asked how to fix it. She is the queen of DIY molding, framing, painting, in the midst of raising 5 kids. Go check out her site.... you'll be impressed at all of her before and after pictures!

She told me to make the frame and inside both a creamy white color. I love it when people tell me what to do. Well....when I ask for it, I guess... and depending on who you are...and if you have a good track record. I love it on my own terms, I guess. She also said to get something for the back of the toilet tank, to extend the eye up past that blank space.

Ah. That's better!

I found a basket from my wedding, 9 years ago. See?? Never throw anything away! The basket was bright yellow so I dabbed some tan paint on it while holding the baby.

Multi-tasking is a necessity.

This cost me: $0 to make a few changes. I'm happy.
Thanks Rebecca!

Isn't it great how some people can just "see" what needs to change? I try and try and it still looks wrong!

Enjoy the new look, and for free, too. BONUS!
