My step dad made these night stands for us 8 years ago. This is the same guy who made the rocking horse, Kaylee's kitchen, helped with my headboard, and has made several other pieces for us.
I love the bead board and the trim! They got a little make over with black paint as part of my bedroom renovation.
Things I've learned:
It's much more satisfying to paint a piece of furniture than ....say... a bathroom.
Painter's canvas is far superior to a plastic sheet for protecting against painting messiness.
I will step in paint every time I open a can of paint.

Funny! I am super messy when I paint. I am inspired by you to tackle painting a little at a time (in a month or two).
