I wrapped up all of our Christmas books, and can you believe I have exactly 24? One for each night leading up to Christmas. They are not all Christmas treasures, but I hope to add a few really "good" books each season. At first, I was putting the books in a gift bag 2 seconds before handing it over to the kids, but kids LOVE TO TEAR THINGS APART. Plus it was a good excuse to watch HGTV during nap time while I wrapped books in baby shower paper, birthday paper, and other such festive themes.

That's a great alternative to advent calendars! We have a wooden advent calendar for each kid with 24 doors. It's a great tradition and they love it, but I cringe whenever I learn how much we spent filling them. Ouch!
