I bought 2 of these reusable sandwich baggies from Evelyn's etsy store. I think she's got a really great idea, and I wanted to support her home business. She's a stay at home mom; if I could find something to sell that made more than interpreting, I'd probably do it too!
Over the weekend I made a few snack size baggies out of some linen I had in my fabric stash. So far I'm only using them for dry snacks and for things that will be consumed within a few hours. I don't really trust that Velcro seal yet. I just shake the crumbs out and use it again. They can be thrown in the wash too if they get dirty. LOVE THAT!One of my girlfriend wants some with Spiderman on it for her son's lunch bag. I think that is so funny! I'm going to be playing around with iron on transfers tonight and I'll add spiderman to the list of things to print!

You continue to amaze me, Amy Jo, at how quickly you see an idea and then try it yourself. I think personalizing the bags is a great idea! Did you see the t-shirts we made with Will's artwork? You could always do that, too - using printout iron on paper. :) (I guess it needs to be food safe, though)
I love the concept and have also seen these on Etsy. I'm curious if the ones you bought are lined with plastic or just cloth. We use cloth diapers for the baby and I bought "wetbags" which look very similar to your snack bags, but on a much larger scale. They are lined with plastic to keep the wetness and odor in. I bet the velcro is easier to put in rather than a zipper, but anything velcro at my house tends to attract lots of fuzzies, lint and stray hairs, which would be pretty gross if you were eating a snack out of it, LOL!
You should open your own Etsy shop! I know I would buy stuff from you!
PS- I made those pillowcase dresses this week for my 6 year old and 11 month old. They turned out really cute and were a cinch to make. I definitely plan on making some more.

(And I have an idea for us and a little makey makey home business craftiness that we could sell to friends or online via blogs... wink wink-we'll talk more- you know what I mean!)
