After: blue and cream long drapes
I'm giving my bedroom a make over. S..L..O..W..L..Y. Something about a 6 pound baby living inside of me is slowing me down these days.
I used painter's drop cloths for the cream portion of the new drapes. Super cheap, super thick cloth. It lets in just the right amount of light in the morning to wake us up. I can't even count how many times Brian has blamed the room darkening shades for oversleeping. Now I leave the shade up and we get a great wake up (from one window at least).
I hung the new curtain super high, which makes the other side look kinda dumpy. I really like the long length, and once I paint the walls a darker shade of tan, I"m going to love the contrast.
Estimated cost per window is about $14. Not bad!
$10 (9x6 ft) drop cloth from Lowes
$2 for the dark navy canvas from a garage sale this year
$2 for a strip of that yummy cream and blue fabric.

Not bad at all! I did drop cloth curtains in my dining room and I love them! Can't beat the price for the length and the look is great. ;)
Wow, I love the drop cloth idea!
Looks great!-Dana
