I found a chair on the side of the road over the winter. After a quick check to see if it was sturdy, I threw it in the back of my car. I washed it real quick, then used it "as is" all winter in our library. Ugh. It was so ugly, painted in a few different colors, but served it's purpose. Now I've got a new home in mind for it!
I got the kiddos to help me wash it down. We learned how to squeeze the water out of the cloth. We'll probably be learning this again, since I'm not sure they get it.
I sprayed painted the chair black, then searched through Google images till I found a swirly image that I liked. I transfered the design using a transfer/ chalk paper, then painted it by hand.
It's not exactly what I was going for. darn it. If only I had some artistic abilities, I'd have some better swirls. Maybe when my mom visits I'll re-spray it and let her make it pretty.

Love it! Thanks for the great idea! I love how you involved your kiddos in the project!
I Love it and would not change a thing, in my humble opinion, LOL!
Wow! I love it! You did a great job. I have nearly the same chairs in my kitchen so now I'm wondering what they'd look like if I painted them too!
I think it looks really pretty, Amy Jo! I would have never thought to look online for swirl designs; that's a creative idea.
Ummm . . . It looks really good to me!
