Snickerdoddle Cookies

These cookies are amazing. I'm totally hooked on them. I swear it's because of the tiny bit of corn syrup added to the batter. There is no chocolate involved, but these are seriously addicting, yummy and wonderful. Let me know if you try them!

I generally bake about half the dough into cookies. I roll the other half into balls and freeze them for another day. It's better to spread the butter and sugar consumption over a span of a week or two.

Check out Julia at Hooked on Houses to see what other people are hooked on today!

Snickerdoodles

3 1/2 cups of flour
1 tbs. baking powder
2 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt

1 cup of butter
2 cups of sugar
2 eggs
1 tablespoon light corn syrup
2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

Stir together dry ingredients.
In separate bowl, cream butter. Add sugar, then eggs, corn syrup and vanilla.
Add in dry ingredients.
Chill one hour to make easier to handle.
Roll into balls, then roll into cinnamon sugar mixture.
Bake 375 for 10-12 minute until cookies are puffed up and the surface is slightly cracked.

This is my kind of cookie! Thanks for sharing the recipe. You should bring it over to my "Tasty Tuesday" party this week.

Oh, my. I love snickerdoodles. Wish I could scoop one of these right up off the screen!

Thanks for joining my blog party, Amy Jo! I always enjoy coming over here to see what you're up to. :-)

Mmm... The chocolate chip cookies that I make use a little corn syrup as well.

I have a blog post request: Will you show us how you don't fold Joshua's laundry? :)

I can almost smell them baking!Snickerdoodles are a favorite. I have never seen a recipe though that calls for corn syrup. I will have to try these.

Have a great weekend!

Awww! Snickerdoodles were my Nana's signature cookie. She made hundreds of them for the holidays. That takes me back...maybe I should learn to make them now for my boys even though they aren't cookie freaks like I am.

I have both tasted and made these cookies (THANK-YOU, Aim!) - it is my absolute favorite cookie. They are so deliciously chewy!
