Free Kid's Picnic table

Here's an old post, dug out of my archives for Becky's Roadkill Rescue Party.

I rescued this mini picnic table from the big bad garbage truck. A neighbor was throwing it out and I managed to throw it into the back of my car right as the truck pulled around the corner. Ahhh....the drama.

The poor thing sat around the garage, occasionally being scraped and sanded until my husband threatened to put it back to the curb.
I painted it white, and then scrounged around in the basement until I found this beautiful blue paint. It really makes the top "pop", with minimal work involved. Here's my little guy standing by the finished product. It's just his size. And I'm happy to declare that I didn't invest a single penny into this little fixer upper project. Just time.

That is so cute! I just bought this little wooden bench/toybox from a garage sale for $8 that seriously needs some TLC. I am hoping to get some time to work on it this weekend!

Wow what a difference a coat of paint makes! Love that it's two different colors too.

Hello Amy Jo - it's nice to meet ya! I'm late to the party, but wanted to comment on how much I love that sweet wood table! The make-over is so great. Your little guy looks like he's really proud of it! Thank you for sharing.

Blessings,
Marie

Love the color! And maybe it'll hide spills better too?

Not that I'm the kind of mom that wouldn't clean them up right away....and let them harden...and then just paint right over them.... ;)

I too LOVE the two colors, and agree that it makes the top "pop". I would recommend that you bring it in for the wintertime, if you're leaving it outside. Our wooden table doesn't like being out for the winter.
