If you saw this hideous canvas would you take a second look? I took 10 looks before asking how much this was going for at a garage sale. For $3, I took it home. This thing is huge!
I wanted to paint over it really quick with Kiltz, but before I knew it, all the neighbor kids wanted to help and suddenly I had 5 "helpers". I spent the whole time on paint management duty wiping up spills and drops of paint. NOT WHAT I HAD IN MIND.
This is what I had in mind: washable finger paints all over the canvas. My mom, the artist, had a blast with the kids. They mixed colors and painted over the textured bumps. It's not exactly a masterpiece, but a project we can do over and over this summer.
That's an awesome idea! I wonder if the woman who sold it would be horrified . . . Ha! I liked the colors of the original canvas, but didn't necessarily like it.
