Bed poll results

After my post about the marriage bed, I was curious to see what size bed people are sleeping in these days and if they liked that size. A whopping 16 people participated! For real, I'm excited by that number. Here's the question I asked:

I sleep in a :
Twin: 12%
Full: 12%
Queen: 62%
King: 12%

My bed size is:
Just right! 57%
Too small! 35%
Too big! 7%

I was expecting to see more people with a KING bed, but only 2 lucky people have one. A queen bed seems to be the most popular, and most people think their bed is just right. hmmmm. Interesting, isn't it?

this and that....

The results are in with 15 votes. Cool! 15 different people looked at my site this week? Unless that was my mom trying to inflate the numbers and make me feel good... Don't you think my mom should have a blog? I think I'm going to make one for her and see if she'll do it

The question: I eat outside....
46% said "every chance I get"
13% said "ugh..too much work"
40% said "because I don't have to sweep up the crumbs"

I hate that those numbers don't add up to 100. I guess blogger doesn't do decimals...

Thanks for the lovely comments on my anniversary. We had an uneventful day. Brian at work and then to play golf. I took the kids to a park in Syracuse with my cousin Colleento visit with my mom . It was a wonderful little trip, including the brief torrential rainstorm.

I got home late to find Brian had bought an ice cream cake and bouquet of white roses. He actually remembered our anniversary! I have super low expectations, so this was enough to impress me. I wonder if he actually remembered that my wedding bouquet was white roses, or if that was a lucky grab off the grocer's shelf....

For those of you waiting to see a picture of the wasp killing outfit, I'm sorry to disappoint. Brian's friend offered to spray the deadly poison into the nasty hive. No winter coat or ski mask needed. What a friend! (I think Brian was relieved.)

The 3 second rule

55% of people said they believed in the 3 second rule.
45% of people said they used to believe in the 3 second rule before they had kids.

Personally, I fall into the latter category. I'm not sure what other people mean by that, but in my house it means that babies regularly put Cheerios in their mouths that have been on the floor for an undermined length of time. I'm not proud of this fact, but it appears that I don't have the mechanism to keep tight control of food on the floor. And, even worse, I'll admit that sometimes I run to see what she's just put in her mouth. And finding that it's *JUST* a Cheerio, let her continue to eat it. Now if it was a piece of plastic or something inedible, I would be sure to grab that real quick. I do have some motherly instincts after all.
I found the picture of Cheerios on the floor from June Cleaver Nirvana's blog. If you have a child who eats Cheerios, you will definitely enjoy her post!

Camping

Camping Poll results:

50% of people said that they camp to enjoy the outdoors.
25% of people said that they camp because it's cheaper than a resort
25% of people said that they avoid camping at all costs.

I'll admit to being one of the people who'd rather go to a resort. If I win the lottery, I promise to take my whole family to an all inclusive resort in the Bahamas or Jamaica or anywhere beautiful. If only I played the lottery.

Our weekend away at Buckeye Lake was great. The best part was not hearing, "MOMMY! MOMMY! MAMA! MOM!" every few minutes. Joshua was completely occupied every single moment of each day with his cousins and his Grammy. I don't believe I uttered my favorite phrase, "DON'T TOUCH HER!!!!" the entire time we were there. I found little spots of quiet time here and there. Nothing dramatic or life changing. But the quiet was nice, and afternoon nap time was great; no laundry to do, no cleaning to do. One afternoon I laid down with Joshua as he was falling asleep. He clung to me, even while asleep. I tried to worm my way out 4 times, but finally gave up and enjoyed the quiet time intertwined with my baby boy.

We stayed at a KOA that had exceptionally nice bathrooms. I almost left a comment card with that exact statement, but there were so many other things that were irritating that I wimped out and didn't leave any comments at all. Each family had a little 10x10 foot log cabin which was nice and cozy even through a strong rain storm. Sleeping in tight quarters has its advantages. Well, maybe only one advantage. I loved falling asleep to the sound of my family softly breathing. The breaths that I always take for granted...The breaths that I can't hear in the day to day noise of life. Listening to that reminded me that all is well with my little family. For that I am grateful.

Cleaning Poll

Which chore do you hate the most?

28% scrubbing the kitchen floor

42% cleaning the bathroom

14% washing dishes

14% cooking

Which chore do you like the most?

80% vacuuming

10% yard work (I happen to know that my husband was the one who picked this one.)

I think it's fascinating that everyone likes to vacuum. Talk about an instant gratification chore. Vrrrroooom.. Dirt is gone!

Geeky

I took this crazy quiz and found out that I'm 19% GEEK. Brian took it and he is 54% GEEK.

That explains a lot. Although I thought he'd get more like 86%.

He said, "Cool! I'm a well rounded person since I'm only half geek." I never thought that "well rounded" and "half geek" could simultaneously describe someone's characteristics.

If you take the quiz, let me know your level of geekness .

19% Geek

The results are in!

If you participated on my most recent poll, thank you! The poll said: "Chocolate chips are 1) strictly used for baking or 2)are my secret chocolate stash".

And the results are......
1 person uses chocolate chips only for baking
7 people consider chocolate chips their secret chocolate stash

I've very curious who that lone person is who never steals from the baking chips. I'm dying to know their dress size, although I know that's not polite to ask. So I won't. But I'll be wondering. I bet she's skinny.

I forgot to post the results of my very first poll. Here it is, very belated, and totally from memory. "According to fashion experts, your handbag is supposed to match your hair color"

1 person said "I'm so embarrassed! I didn't' know!"
1 person said "Of course my purse matches my hair color"
8 people said "That's a stupid fashion rule"
