Pants into a bag

I got a pair of pants at a garage sale over the summer for $.25. They didn't fit me, but I thought the fabric was cute. I was going through a stage where I was completely fascinated by the re-creations of people over at Wardrobe Refashion . For $.25 I knew I could do SOMETHING with it!

Well, today was the day. I cut the legs apart and sewed it into a skirt like form, then another seam across the bottom. A total of 3 straight seams. Can't beat that!

I stuck a pillow in it so you can see the zipper, button and the pockets. The only reason this works is due to the drawstring already on the pants.

These foam blocks are in constant use at my house, and the plastic blanket bags are ripped all around the zipper. I think the cotton bag will hold up better!

That is a great repurposing idea. So cool! I would not have thought of that. But if I need a bag for something I will try to remember your idea. Especially if I have pants to get rid of.
