This is another maternity shirt that never fit quite right. On round 3 of pregnancy, I finally decided to donate it. Then I took it out of the pile to make Kaylee some shorts. I used a pattern and carefully cut it out. Apparently, I didn't pay attention while I was sewing and this is what I churned out:
I almost cried at the hideous shorts. I couldn't sleep that night, thinking about those shorts. Did I cut it out wrong? Did I sew it wrong? I tried to re-arrange the pieces in my head all night long. The next day I took the seams out and immediately saw how to put it back together the right way. WHEW....
They have a cute little ruffled edge that didn't require any hemming.
Now I'm left with this part of the shirt. I might be able to turn the sleeves into little Capri's.
I laughed so hard when I saw the first attempt! It makes me feel better that such an accomplished sewer can make the same mistakes I make all the time.
Hee hee.. I'm just impressed that you can make something out of this shirt! I would have never thought! That is so creative of you! I can't even sew on a button, so I'm completely envious! :) Thanks for stopping by and taking a look around my wonderfully wordy blog! I just love new visitors!
